KAZAN: The open All-Russian competition of public art object projects on the territory of the multifunctional residential complex UNO has ended

On December 22, 2022, the final meeting of the jury of the open All-Russian competition for public art object projects was held on the territory of the multifunctional residential complex UNO on Sibgat Hakim Street in Kazan.

In accordance with the decision of the jury, the following projects became the winners of the competition:

  • 1st place. The motto is "M Y S T E R I U M". Architectural workshop Yort/Yort (Kazan). The author 's team consists of: Safiullina Irina Pavlovna and Safiullin Danir Rafikovich.
  • 2nd place. The motto is "Shepherd's Lullaby". The author 's team consists of: Natalia Vitalievna Ponomarenko, Daria Gennadievna Krekoten, Valeriya Maksimovna Chubarova, Anastasia Yurievna Prudnikova (Vladivostok).
  • 2nd place. The motto is "STREAM-2022". The author of the project: Sorokina Ekaterina Romanovna (Moscow).
  • 3rd place. The motto is "Dragonfly Effect". The team of authors: Ekaterina V. Bakhteeva; Marina Sergeevna Yablonskaya (Rostov-on-Don).
  • 3rd place. The motto is "We become what surrounds us / Tornado". The author of the project: Avdeenko Kirill Leonidovich (Podolsk).
  • 3rd place. The motto is "Anamorphic Cube". The author of the project: Mendoza Yepes Roldan Antonio (Moscow).

Works for the competition were accepted for three months — from September 12 to December 9, 2022. Professional architects, sculptors, artists and students of specialized specialties from Russia and CIS countries could take part in the competition. The total prize fund of the contest was 1 million rubles. According to the results of the competition, the project of one of the winners will be implemented. The implementation of the public art object is planned for the 4th quarter of 2023.

A total of 164 projects from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan were submitted to the competition. 143 projects were allowed to participate in the main competition program. 3 works were received from participants from Belarus, 2 — from participants from Kazakhstan. 138 competitive projects were prepared by participants from Russia, who represented 25 subjects of the Russian Federation.

The most projects were received from contestants from Moscow — 47, Tatarstan — 21, Samara region — 11, St. Petersburg - 10. Among other regions represented: Moscow Region, Primorsky Krai, Rostov Region, Tyumen Region, Krasnodar Territory, Ulyanovsk Region, Altai Territory, Sverdlovsk Region, Stavropol Territory, Khabarovsk Territory, Arkhangelsk Region, Kaluga Region, Kemerovo Region, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Oryol Region, Perm Region, Republic of Bashkortostan, Republic of Crimea, Sakhalin region, Smolensk region, Tomsk region.

Due to the large number of works submitted to the competition, the jury evaluated them in several stages. At the 1st stage, a long list was determined, which included 30 competitive works. At the 2nd stage, 15 best shortlisted works were selected from the longlist. At the 3rd stage, the jury determined 6 winners of the competition: one prize was awarded for the 1st place, two prizes for the 2nd place, three prizes for the 3rd place.

The winner in the Audience Award nomination (one award) will be determined until December 31, 2022. According to the decision of the organizing committee of the competition, only 30 projects from the long list will compete in this nomination.

8 projects took part in the nomination "Creative neurosymbiosis", all the authors of which will receive special diplomas of the competition. The winner in the nomination was a project under the motto "DREAM" of finoarte studio (Moscow), an author's team consisting of: Belyaev Igor Leonidovich, Alypova Alina Alekseevna, Tikhon Konstantin Sergeevich. A post-release on the results of this nomination will be sent in January 2023.

The project selected by the initiator of the competition — UD Group — for implementation will be announced separately.

The jury of the competition included: Ilsiyar Miskhatovna Tukhvatullina, Chief architect of the city of Kazan; Mugad Ibadulakhovich Salikhov, Director of the Division of the IFC LLC "YUD Group"; Anton Igorevich Gorovoy, Chief architect of the Megabudka Bureau; Alexander Nikolaevich Zorin, architect, member of the Board of the Union of Architects of Russia, Director of the RK Project Bureau; Alexander Evgenievich Ponomarev, artist, Curator, participant of the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art and Commissioner of the First Antarctic Biennale of Contemporary Art, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts; Guzel Rinatovna Fayzrakhmanova, PhD in Art History, Associate Professor of the Department of Urban Planning of KGASU, curator of public art projects; Arseniy Leonovich, architect, designer, artist, co-founder of the architectural bureau Panacom; Alexandra Weld Queen, artist, sculptor, performer, creator of the art object for Burning Man 2019, as well as curator and organizer of residencies for the creation of sculptures for urban spaces; Gyuzel Radievna Yuldashbaeva, General planner of the Architectural House ADT bureau.
