MINSK – KALININGRAD: The Museum of the World Ocean has signed a partnership agreement with the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War

The Intermuseum Agreement was signed in Minsk, within the framework of the V National Forum "Museums of Belarus". The Forum is a unique platform for the exchange of experience and the development of museum business. The first one was held in 2012 in Grodno. This year the event is held on the basis of the Sports and Cultural Center of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. The theme of this year's forum: "Museum. Heritage. Memory".

— It is extremely important for us that today we are signing an agreement with our partner – the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, — said Alexey Budanov, Deputy Director General of the Museum of the World Ocean. — Among the scientific and military-historical vessels of the Embankment of the historical fleet of our museum-reserve there is an icebreaker "Krasin". The vessel was built in 1917. It was a direct participant in the events of the Second World War, made a significant contribution to the achievement of our common Great Victory. I think it is in this direction that we will implement exhibition projects with our new partners from Minsk.

The Minsk forum was also attended by guests from twelve Russian museums. In total, within the framework of the event, six cooperation agreements were signed between the leading state museums of Russia and Belarus.
